The Story of This Timepiece

Archive Description

This photograph captures the intricate movement of a vintage pocket watch repeater during restoration in our workshop.

As part of the restoration, numerous worn and damaged components were carefully repaired or remanufactured before the movement could be reassembled and adjusted. Every wheel, lever, spring and bridge was individually inspected, cleaned and, where necessary, restored to ensure reliable operation while preserving as much of the original mechanism as possible.

Pocket watch repeaters are among the most complicated mechanical timepieces ever produced. Their striking mechanism, capable of chiming the hours, quarters and minutes on demand, relies on hundreds of precision-made components working in perfect harmony. Restoring these remarkable movements requires extensive experience, patience and traditional watchmaking techniques.

Images such as this document the craftsmanship behind every restoration undertaken in our workshop and preserve the fascinating mechanical heritage hidden beneath the dial.
