The Aurelia is a beautifully proportioned interpretation of the classic diamond halo engagement ring. Crafted in Platinum 950, its round brilliant centre diamond is surrounded by a finely set diamond halo, adding brightness and presence while the plain polished shoulders keep the design clean and elegant.
Designed to accommodate a centre diamond of approximately 0.25ct, each Aurelia ring can be individually matched with a carefully selected natural diamond. The example currently available features a GIA-certified 0.23ct F colour, VS2 clarity round brilliant diamond, chosen for its bright appearance and beautifully balanced quality.
A further approximately 0.14ct of round brilliant diamonds forms the delicate halo, enhancing the centre stone without overwhelming its proportions. Refined rather than overstated, Aurelia is a timeless engagement ring designed to let the quality of its diamonds take centre stage.

Every natural diamond has its own balance of colour, clarity, cut and internal characteristics, giving each stone an individual identity.
Nature’s Architecture
Natural diamond commonly forms in octahedral and related cubic crystal habits.Diamonds are exceptionally resistant to scratching, but they are not indestructible. A sharp impact in the wrong direction can chip or cleave a diamond.
Understanding Diamond Quality
Cut quality influences brilliance, fire, scintillation and how effectively light returns to the eye.
For colourless to near-colourless diamonds, grading commonly runs from D through Z.
Clarity considers internal inclusions and external characteristics under controlled magnification.
Carat measures weight, not visual size. Equal carat weights can look very different.
Colourless to Near-Colourless
Natural diamonds in the colourless-to-light range are commonly graded from D to Z. D represents the absence of detectable body colour at the top of the scale, while later letters show progressively more noticeable yellow or brown tone.
A lower colour grade does not automatically mean an unattractive diamond. Metal colour, setting style, cut quality and personal preference all influence how a stone appears when worn.
Natural Characteristics
Flawless or internally flawless under standard grading conditions.
Very, very slight inclusions that are extremely difficult to see under magnification.
Very slight inclusions that remain relatively difficult to observe under magnification.
Slight inclusions that are easier to locate and may sometimes be visible without magnification.
Included diamonds show more obvious clarity characteristics that may affect transparency or durability.
A Natural Fingerprint
Natural diamonds may contain crystals, feathers, clouds, needles, pinpoints or other internal features created during or after formation.
These characteristics can help identify a stone and tell part of its geological story. Their position, size, number and nature influence the clarity grade.
Light Performance
Cut quality describes much more than a diamond's outline shape. Proportions, symmetry and polish determine how effectively light enters, reflects and returns to the eye.

Cut Is Not the Same as Shape
Under Ultraviolet Light
Some natural diamonds emit visible light when exposed to ultraviolet radiation. Blue is the most commonly observed fluorescence colour.
Fluorescence is not automatically positive or negative. Its influence depends on the individual diamond and should be considered alongside colour, transparency and overall appearance.
Transparency Matters
Natural diamonds can occasionally receive treatments intended to alter colour or clarity. Where a treatment is known or identified, it should be clearly disclosed. At Marcus Tempus, we favour natural diamonds in their untreated state and source from trusted suppliers, while assessing stones and supporting documentation individually.

Independent Assessment
A grading report records gemmological observations such as carat weight, measurements, colour, clarity and, where applicable, cut quality and fluorescence. Depending on the diamond, an independent grading report may accompany the stone.

Recognised independent gemmological laboratories include GIA, IGI and HRD Antwerp. Natural diamonds may be accompanied by an independent grading report from one of these or another recognised laboratory. The laboratory and type of report will vary depending on the individual diamond; the logos shown here do not imply that every Marcus Tempus diamond is graded by these laboratories.

We favour trusted suppliers and transparent sourcing wherever possible. Natural diamond provenance can vary according to size, age, market route and documentation, so we assess each stone and piece individually.
