Inspired by the extraordinary work of Iceland's Search and Rescue teams, the Luminox ICE-SAR 1080 Limited Edition is a purposeful Swiss Made watch designed for demanding environments. Its striking fire-red strap and outer dial ring reference Iceland's landscape of fire and ice, while the production run of just 874 pieces worldwide commemorates the arrival of Iceland's first settlers in AD 874.
The substantial 45mm CARBONOX™ case remains remarkably lightweight, surrounding a textured black dial protected by sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Fifteen Luminox Light Technology tubes provide continuous low-light visibility for up to 25 years without requiring an external light source to charge them.
A Swiss Ronda quartz movement sits at the heart of the watch, complemented by 200-metre water resistance and a pulsometer scale designed to allow first responders to measure pulse rates quickly. Finished with its distinctive red rubber strap with textile finish, the XL.1095 combines genuine rescue-inspired functionality with one of the boldest designs in the ICE-SAR collection.

Luminox Light Technology uses tiny borosilicate glass capsules containing micro gas lights on the hands, hour markers and, on selected models, the bezel.
Unlike conventional luminous paint that must first absorb light, LLT is self-powered and designed to provide continuous visibility for up to 25 years.

In 1992, Navy SEAL research and development officer Chief Nick North worked with Luminox to develop a watch suited to the demanding needs of the SEALs.

Care & Water Resistance
Keeping a Luminox Ready for Use
Water resistance is not permanent. Luminox recommends that gaskets are inspected and replaced every 18–24 months, or more frequently when a watch is regularly exposed to chlorinated pools or salt water. The exact water-resistance rating should always be checked on the individual model.
