A wonderfully nostalgic interpretation of traditional Black Forest clockmaking, this 8-day musical cuckoo clock brings together an intricately carved forest chalet with a charming animated rural scene.
The wooden chalet is surrounded by tall fir trees and richly carved foliage, creating the feeling of a secluded Black Forest homestead. Across the lower scene are horses, farm animals and a traditional woodcutter, with an array of miniature details that give the clock its distinctive storybook character.
On the hour, the clock comes to life with music and movement. The woodcutter moves, the horse turns, and the figures above the dial rotate while the musical mechanism plays a selection of 36 melodies.
At its heart is a traditional mechanical 8-day movement, requiring winding approximately once a week. The familiar pine-cone weights and chains complete the traditional appearance, while an automatic night shut-off silences the striking and musical functions overnight.
