The substantial wooden chalet is richly decorated with a shingled roof, carved balconies, flower-filled windows and traditional Black Forest detailing. Across the front, miniature figures create a nostalgic village scene, including a traditional beer garden with seated figures raising their steins, barrels and woodland details.
Above the dial, a group of traditionally dressed dancers forms part of the clock's musical display, while the cuckoo appears from its doorway to announce the hour.
The clock is powered by a traditional 8-day mechanical movement, requiring winding approximately once a week. Three pine-cone weights and hanging chains complete the classic Black Forest appearance.
